Shimmering Stars for the 4th of July!

 

Fire Engine Red Shimmerz on Burgandy Colored patterned paper created a really fun metallic look for this 4th of July Page. I cut out 5 triangle shapes, painted them lightly with Shimmerz, creased them down the center and adhered in a star shape on my layout. It just brought the paper to life, I love it! I used the same technique with the small blue stars by creasing them down each center point. I sanded all the creases and then Spritzed them using Sea Foam. I love the aged worn look the Spritz gave them.  All the paper is by Graphic 45.

 

This layout using paper from Reminisce has photos from last 4th of July, I can hardly WAIT to take some new pic's later today, and freeze some fireworks in the sky!  Thanks for peeking and I hope you have a Wonderful 4th of July weekend!!!  ((Hugs))

{644.5} challenge

Never would I have imagined that I would get to meet and work with some of the the most sincere, sweet and incredibley talently people!  Dena and I become such good friends working together at Bad Girls.   She has the best ideas ever and we share a silly dorky streak that not many can match lol and even though we have not met in person yet because we live {644.5} miles apart we are inseperable wacky cra(x)y friends.  Well, things change, and we aren't working together anymore so she had this idea for us to have a reason to keep in touch.....not that we need that, lol we still email and call eachother a lot!  :)  It's more for something fun that we can do to test/push eachother and have fun!

So our first {644.5} challenge was to trade photos with eachother and scrap a layout of the other person, using our homemade word Cra(x)y....um ya, i warned you we are dorky. :)

a scrapping {roadmap}???

.....having a scrappin' roadmap definitely makes scrappin' Cr8tively so much easier, and that's why I'm so excited about the brand new Bad Girl Bleuprint Challenge!  It takes the guess work out of scrappin' and lets you enjoy the process to create a truely one of a kind layout!  The first challenge (Wendy's Funky Town) went up last week and is due tonight,  we will have a new Bleuprint Challenge go live every Friday!!!  So join us weekly as you draft your dream layout!

Jen Matott's Alternative Photo Printing Class was a Huge Success and will be going strong for a few more weeks, so don't hesitate to to sign up for it still.  It's a fun compliment to my photoshop class, and when combining all these techniques you will truely have a one of a kind piece of art!

We are just getting started with crazy out of the box classes at Bad Girls, so be watching for upcoming yumminess and silly sneak peeks on all the designers blogs!!!!  ;)

online classes & a free brush download ;)

what could be easier?  I love online classes and the fact that you can learn cool techniques right from home when it fits your schedule.........so I'm really excited that Bad Girls is now offering just that!  Online Classes every month!  As Bad Girls continues to evolve I can't help at reflecting my time as a "Bad Girl".  I've learned and grown so much from all the designers that I've had the privilege to work with, each of them is so beautifully talented in their own way, and each has a place in my heart always.  Change is sometimes scary but nothing eVeR stays the same, that much I know.   So I begin this new adventure with Wendy Rago, Cari Fennell, Liz Hicks, Jennifer Matott, and Gina de Jong.........I truely hope this new direction is embraced because we have some KILLER Classes planned and can't wait to Share!!!!! 

Jen Matott is an art teacher in New York, her work is always so inspiring she is crazy talented and just a fabulous person.  She is always thinking waaaaay outside of the box, and her Alternative photo printing class is proof of that.  This in depth class will open up so many new possiblities for your photos!   Sign up now, this class starts this Monday June 15th!

record your life....

 

this is a different layout for me.  I'm blaming it on my friend Dena.  Ever since I took her challenge to do a layout in under 15 minutes....i just don't think there's any going back....we'll see.  ;)  i just love the Communique Line from Graphic 45, my favorite image is the vintage typewriter that simply says "life".   It inspired me to make a title page for an album I'm making.  The journaling on my layout just states "record your life".  The Shimmerz Spritz is "mudpie", one of my favorite Spritz colors right now.  I hope you have a lovely weekend, and remember to record your life!!!! xo
